Net Media Planet Swims for Marie Curie

By Pavitra Kumar, Marketing Executive, Net Media Planet

Team Net Media Planet had a great time on April 17th while taking part in the world’s largest swimming fund raising event. Five from the Net Media Planet team took part in the event. Russell Scott, Daf Dent, Claire Seymour, Andrew Molan and Sri Sharma (left to right in the picture) came back proud owners of ‘Swimathon 2008 medals’ after the five kilometre relay swim.

Net Media Planet helped raise money for two worthwhile causes – the Swimathon Foundation and Marie Curie Cancer Care. The team raised money for the two charities and came back both ‘looking good and feeling good’ which happily for all involved is the motto of the Swimathon Foundation.

“I’m a proud medal winner , a bit tired after my one kilometre swim but I had loads of fun and I am pleased to able to support a great cause!” says Sri Sharma, Managing Director of Net Media Planet.

Pepperjam launch the Pepperjam Affiliate Network – My Thoughts

Posted by Sri Sharma – Managing Director
I caught up with Kris Jones from Pepperjam most recently at the A4U Expo where we were panelists on Meet the Super Affiliate session. Kris has recently launched the Pepperjam Affiliate Network and I took a test drive. My first reaction was wow, i liked the very cool web 2.0 interface and the test account had a very high Balance $$$ (not mine but for a second, I thought so!).

It looks the business and i can certainly support technology that is robust and well built. Clear user-friendly interface, charts, simple live chat tools to support communication and foster long term relationships – the things Affiliates and merchants want to see. There is a real need for SID tracking and reporting that works properly in affiliate networks and online tracking technologies in general. I am looking forward to seeing that in Pepperjam Affiliate Network´s sophisticated platform. The site is US focused today, but i am sure international awaits.

If you want more information here is their press release.

Well done and good luck Kris and all the team.

Round Up Of The Year

Posted by Tom Snow – Online Content Editor on behalf of Net Media Planet

2007 has been a great year for Net Media Planet. As this year draws to a close we thought it would be good to have a quick look back at the opportunities that we have encountered since last January.

One of the major changes that happened to the company is the move in April from our old base to our much larger and grander offices in London’s West End. The new office brought with it a fresh sense of excitement for the Net Media Planet team, as we could see how far we had come in such a short period of time.

The Net Media Planet staff has doubled in number since the start of the year, with new additions to the account management, finance, creative, content and technical teams. As such we were able to take on bigger challenges and increase our output to new levels. The technical team rolled out 15 product releases to our performance search technology platform, the publishing team unveiled countless new sites and the account management team developed valuable relationships with our clients and partners.

Net Media Planet were present at many fantastic Search Marketing events, including February’s Affiliate Summit West Coast in Las Vegas and June’s Affiliate Summit East Coast in Miami. There were also the large industry gatherings closer to home in London including the Commission Junction Roundtable, A4U Expo, Affiliate Summit London, and the TradeDoubler Summit 2007. Net Media Planet’s Managing Director, Sri Sharma, was a speaker in the last three events and featured on a panel with MSN and Yahoo which helped cement Net Media Planet as a recognisable leader in Paid Search Marketing, as well as having a chance to meet some of the industry’s most influential and respected people.

One of the year’s highlights was being awarded the Highly Commended prize for Best International Publisher 2007 at the A4U Awards. It is an honour to be recognised in such a way and once again we thank everyone for voting for us.

Search marketing as a whole went through some dramatic and exciting changes in 2007, including the long awaited launch of Yahoo’s Panama and the ever-evolving Quality Score keeping everyone on their toes. It is fair to say 2007 saw paid search and online marketing get smarter and even more data and metrics driven which is helping the industry move towards the world of paid-on-performance CPA – a world we love! As such we are really looking forward to 2008!

It has been a fantastic year. Thank you to everyone we have worked with and helped Net Media Planet have such a successful 12 months.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

Net Media Planet’s Christmas Murder Mystery Party

Posted by Tom – Online Content Editor

Last weekend the Net Media Planet team had their staff Christmas celebration at the Bridgewood Manor hotel in Chatham, Kent. We had a fantastic meal and took part in a mind-bending murder mystery. Set in the 1920’s, it was about an allegedly cursed ring and the mysterious deaths that surrounded it. Luckily, four members of Net Media Planet’s staff managed to work out who the murderer was and the case was closed.

We would like to send out a big thank you to the organisers, staff and the actors that made the night such a fun and special night.

Net Media Planet at the a4u expo and Awards

Yesterday, members of the Net Media Planet team descended upon London’s ExCeL centre for the first a4u Expo. Featuring talks and panels from a variety of experts in the affiliate field, it was a real success and allowed a great environment for networking and learning.

London’s ExCeL – The home of a4u Expo 2007

Net Media Planet’s Managing Director Sri Sharma took part in the panel called ‘Meet the Super Affiliates’. The panel also featured UK Offer Media Limited’s Kieron Donoghue, eConversions’ Duncan Jennings and Kristopher Jones from pepperjam. It was definitely interesting hearing the four speakers’ different approaches to the questions – which included topic such as the importance of technology compared to strategy, the value of a domain name and tips for the Christmas season. I’m sure that those present will agree with me that is was an interesting and valuable session, which gave a good insight into the lives and business philosophies of the four industry leaders.

Other highlights of the first day included ‘Our Digital Landscape’ which featured facts and figures that highlight the growth this industry has had in recent years, ‘Let’s Get Social’ about the use of social networks in affiliate marketing and ‘Extreme SEO’. The exhibition room had stands from many leading affiliates, networks, merchant and agencies and was a good opportunity to meet new people and drum up some business. It was a really good day and I’m certain the second day will be also excellent. Big thanks to Matthew Wood, the a4u team and everyone involved.

The day didn’t end there though as the evening brought with it the a4u Awards. Net Media Planet was in the Best International Publisher category and we are proud to say we were awarded ‘Highly Commended’. Thanks for everyone who voted for us! The awards party was jolly good fun, and the fish and chips went down really well 🙂

Please leave comments and let us know your views of the a4u expo.
