Predictions for 2010 in Search

Last week we ran our first Net Media Planet seminar of 2010 to discuss our Predictions in Paid Search for 2010. We looked at the opportunities and challenges ahead for paid search marketing and the new developments that technology will provide. It was an excellent session and good to see so many clients and new faces.

Some concepts and areas explored during the session were:

o Targeting an increasingly mobile consumer.
o Developing a strategy to address the opportunities and challenges posed by real time search.
o The benefits of online and offline integration for cashed-strapped marketers.
o The arrival of election year and the effect on consumer behaviour and search.

Net Media Planet wins the Perfume Shop account

The Perfume Shop awards Net Media Planet with its search marketing campaign

Net Media Planet is excited to announce the renewed commitment by the Perfume Shop for Net Media to run its search marketing campaign throughout 2010. The decision comes on the back of a successful trial campaign in late 2009.

The last three months have shown a tremendous uplift in sales and we look forward to seeing what 2010 will hold. More details can be found in the following press release.

The Perfume Shop has awarded Net Media Planet the contract for its paid search account following a highly successful three month trial period. Net Media Planet was initially appointed in October to take on the retailer’s account from Greenlight.

In the final quarter of 2009 Net Media Planet was responsible for running the most successful online campaign ever for the retailer in the run up to Christmas, working in tandem with the company’s advertising campaign throughout the X Factor, with sales increasing by 282% year on year.

Happy New Year from Sri!

One year closes and a fresh new one begins. I am excited and raring to go. There are lots of inspiring technology changes in our world of paid search marketing, ones that were announced in 2009 and will be coming into play in 2010, not least the dawn of real time search.

Today, however, I am impatiently awaiting the phantom Apple Tablet / iGuide / iSlate or whatever it’ll be called. This will bring a shift in the world of mobile computing and with it a shift in search with opportunities for paid search marketing. As our industry moves at a rate of knots, my focus remains, as ever, to find the value and opportunity that will make a difference for our clients.

Here’s to a successful year ahead to all our clients, partners and suppliers. I’m looking forward to working with each of you!

Some thoughts from the Operations Director

It has now been a month since I joined the team at Net Media Planet, and I am extremely excited about what I see as a tremendous opportunity. What I have found at Net Media Planet is an ambitious, talented and motivated team with deep expertise in paid search marketing. The challenge that Sri has set me, in my capacity as Operations Director, is to help the team fulfil its promise and potential and thereby maintain and extend the company’s prodigious rate of growth. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first month with the team, and I look forward to the challenge and success of 2010.

Net Media Planet goes live with PC Site

Today we went live in beta with http://www.pc-site.co.uk a website to research, find and save on computer products and software. We wanted to come up with something that my mum could use and many other mums and dads out there. This includes simple tools to find the right product for you, non tech lingo, really useful product reviews, technology guides and vouchers. We are confident that we can combine serving users well and also serving our brand clients by driving traffic and sales to them through many channels, of course, PPC too.

Net Media Planet Receive the Award for Ranking 16th in Tech Track 100

Net Media Planet’s Business Development Manager, Luke Judge and Head of Client Services, Cameron Lawson receive the award on behalf of the company for being ranked 16th in the ‘Tech Track 100’ rankings 2009 at the award dinner held at Vinopolis, London on 17th November 2009.

The excited duo speak for the entire company when they came back and said that they were proud to have received such a prestigious award for Net Media Planet and it all comes down to the hard work of each member of the team.

Luke Judge shares his brief description of the event through ‘Twitter’ saying, ‘awesome speech by Tim Smit, CEO of Eden Project: Tinkabell Theory, Last man standing, Freak Valley & Gorilla Good Will. Fantastic!’

Net Media Planet and Commission Junction beat the Welsh 3000 to raise money for charity.

The first mention of this charity event was made over lunch between Luke Judge, Dan Thut and Hildegun Iversen from Net Media Planet, Qua Media and Commission Junction respectively. Maximuscle offered to sponsor the endeavour giving the organisers much needed support and backing. Their confident “I’d be keens”, soon became solid admissions for the weekend event. Some months of training followed, with a couple of solid training walks in the rolling hills of the South Downs.

Katherine Francis from Commission Junction joined us and before we knew it, the kit list was being ticked off, the bags packed, and the hire car started up.

The sun hadn’t risen yet and we were ready for the off. A short car journey, some very well needed Viper energy bars were consumed as breakfast thanks to the generosity of our sponsors at Maximuscle. And we were off. Ahead of us 15 peaks over 3000ft each spread over 32miles.

Fast forward to the last peak, we achieved our goal of hiking all 15 peaks in less than 24hrs of walking. Every ache and pain had been worth it, the feeling of elation at completing the final peak was memorable. In the process we raised over £700 for Meningitis UK.

Thanks to Commission Junction for organising this outstanding event, a really great challenge.

Thanks must go to Maximuscle for their fantastic support, without which I don’t think we could done. The many protein bars, Viper energy bars, and Viper energy drinks fuelled us to the finish and aided our recovery on the long journey home. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone setting out on such an endeavour.

And finally thanks to the fantastic generosity of all who supported us in our Welsh 3000 Challenge 2009. Thank you.

Sri Sharma wins Highly Commended Entrepreneur of the Year, National Business Awards

After having heard of the great news of having won the Highly Commended Award, Entrepreneur of the Year in the National Business Awards South England in May, it was really exciting to actually bring the certificate back to the office last week.

Sri Sharma, Managing Director, Net Media Planet proudly collected an award for the Highly Commended Award, Entrepreneur of the Year in the South of England region last week. The awards ceremony took place at London Hilton on Park Lane.

Sri says, “It is an honour to be awarded the Highly Commended Award for Entrepreneur of the Year in the South of England region as recognized by the National Business Awards. This award is for great team work by the Net Media Planet team. I would like to thank the National Business Awards judging panel and team for a wonderful awards ceremony and congratulate all award winners.”

Sri Sharma shares knowledge at the Online marketing Show 2009

At this year’s Online Marketing Show (30th June and 1st July) at London’s Olympia, Sri Sharma shared his ‘Top 11 PPC Strategies for Greater Return on Investment’. His two sessions were a tremendous success with all the theatre seats being taken and people standing around to gain further insight.

The Online Marketing Show itself was part of Marketing Week Live which also featured the Data Marketing Show, In-Store Show and the Insight Show. The place was abuzz with Marketing Decision Makers and Suppliers eager to learn more, network and share knowledge.

Amongst interesting sessions were ‘Twitter Strategies, techniques, rules, measurement and 140 brands’ by Immediate Future and ‘Online PR – the key to Unlocking your Brand’s Potential’ by Propellernet .
